A 29-year-old male patient was brought to KD Hospital Emergency Department, at around 2:30 AM with a gunshot wound over the right side of the chest. Upon arrival, the patient presented with the complaint of difficulty in breathing, chest pain and abdominal pain. The X-ray Chest showed that the bullet was lodged in the chest cavity.
Dr Bhavin Desai, our Senior Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon removed the bullet from the pericardial cavity by sternotomy, and the right atrium and right ventricle were repaired as well. In order to repair the damage caused by the bullet, the patient also had to undergo Right Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting.
